Old Southendian v Bishop’s Stortford Swifts – Essex Olympian League Premier Division – Garon Park – Report
Old Southendian 3-3 Bishop’s Stortford Swifts
Altan Ali was reasonably satisfied with his Old Southendian side after they played out a thrilling six-goal thriller in this Essex Olympian League Premier Division mid-table encounter with Bishop’s Stortford Swifts at Garon Park.
Substitute, Sam Adcock grabbed a quickfire brace while Matt Tonking was also on target for the Old Boys, while Harry Bovington (2) and Edward Pinch netted for the visitors.
“It was an entertaining game,” Ali told Yellow Sport.
“Obviously, we still want to finish the season well and as high up the league as we can. Again, we have proved that we have goals in the side. However, conceding three times was always going to make it difficult for us to win the game.
“Overall, I think there are plenty of positives. We have something to work with ahead of next season.
“In the meantime, we still have three matches to play and I want us to concentrate on taking as many points as we can to finish with a flourish.”
